There are a lot of other things I could be doing now but writing about the situation our government/nation is in has become paramount.
In July, over 200,000 immigrants crossed our southern border, misled by our president’s welcome six months earlier. The paid coyotes who “helped” them get over the border gave them contacts to “help” them in the U.S. Unfortunately, they are most likely human traffickers. The cartels are getting richer and people are less safe.
The COVID-19 Delta Variant is surging, especially along the U.S./Mexican border.
All effort to have civil leadership in Afghanistan has collapsed because no airpower was given to support the Afghan military during our drawdown. The savage Taliban is now in complete control of the nation.
President Biden’s ratings are now plummeting.
I believe if a political party not only endorses but radically supports the killing of millions of unborn babies, even to their date of birth, as health care, it has embraced satanic idolatry.
We cannot sin like this and expect God’s guidance and blessings.
I further believe that protection from God and all ability to make wise decisions left our president and his party when they became radical abortion supporters.
Almost one million abortions occur in the U.S. annually; 73 million in the world. Because of Joe Biden’s decision, we taxpayers are now supporting those worldwide abortions.
The readings from Mass this morning (Judges 2:11-19 and Psalm 106) seem to confirm why our president and nation are going through such hardships. Just replace Israel with the U.S.A.
“The children of Israel offended the Lord by serving the Baals. … and by their worship of these gods provoked the LORD.
Because they had thus abandoned him and served Baal and the Ashtaroth, the anger of the LORD flared up against Israel, and he delivered them over to plunderers who despoiled them. …
Whatever they undertook, the LORD turned into disaster for them, as in his warning he had sworn he would do, till they were in great distress. …
They were quick to stray from the way their fathers had taken, and did not follow their example of obedience to the commandments of the LORD.”
The day’s psalm continues,
“They served their idols, which became a snare for them.
They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons” Psalm 106:34-35.
Let us pray that our president returns to his professed faith, not his cafeteria Catholicism.
And I never pray for one’s conversion without also praying for my continued conversion. None of us is completely innocent; let us all return to the LORD.
